Susan
Family Memories
If anything is true about this amazing woman, her legacy and love was her kids. She showed up to every soccer game and every class party. Our favorite memories are those from the holidays because Sue always made sure they were special. Every Christmas, our family would pick an ornament with a verse from the 12 Days of Christmas and take turns singing. Sue’s kids cannot remember a time when they didn’t have a homemade Halloween costume. If any of the kids needed something, they knew their mom was there for a place to stay, a sewing needle, a fresh plate of food, or a warm hug. Sue was beyond excited to be called MawMaw by her grandchildren and Mimi by her great children. There are infinite memories of Swann’s pizzas and sugar cookies. Sue continued to go to every game, play, match, pageant, performance, you name it. In her purse there were tissues in case you needed to blow your nose, or a mint or lemon drop in case you needed something sweet. Sue had a knack for making anyone and everyone feel at home in her presence, and she raised her kids to do the same. Many of her kid’s friends would refer to Sue as a second mom. She adored camping, exploring the outdoors, playing cards, and dancing with her closest friends. The love of her life was Dave. They had an unwavering love for each other and took care of one another for 56 years of marriage. Her love, laughter, and spirit will never be forgotten.
