Tommy

OWNERS MEMORIES

I got Tommy when he was around 6 years old, from the Humane Shelter to be a pet for my little boy. He named him Thomas the Train, Tommy for short. He ended up taking up with me, more than my son. He slept with me every single night under the covers. My ex-husband would get jealous because I spooned Tommy every night. He was an orange kitty with so much love and a personality I’d never seen before. When he was feeling mischievous, he’d tuck his ears back and try to bite my kneecaps to get me to give him pets. He had the loudest purr I ever heard come from a kitty. He’d spend his days laying with me on the couch and giving me kisses and purring. The photo that Jessica recreated, is of him sitting on the bathroom counter as he did almost every night, while I took a bath. This particular time I asked him if he wanted to take a bath. He did not enjoy baths, so as soon as he heard me ask, he tucked his ears back like he was disgusted with me for even asking. He was the funnest cat I have ever had and the bond I had with him was like no other. I’ve since tried with other kitties, but I have come to realize he was my one and only. I will meet him again on the rainbow bridge when my time comes. But until then, I will wake up each day and let him live on in my memory and in this beautiful portrait that I will get to see every single day on my wall for the rest of my time.
